Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any evidence on the benefits of doula support?
Research shows that continuous doula support is linked to shorter labours, fewer medical interventions, improved outcomes for babies, higher breastfeeding success and lower rates of postnatal depression. Women also report feeling more confident, supported and satisfied in their birth experience, with no reported downsides to having a doula by their side.
Can’t my midwife give me the continuity of care and the evidenced based information I need?
Yes, in an ideal world, midwives would always be able to offer full continuity of care and evidence-based support. However, due to pressures on NHS maternity services, time constraints and hospital policies, this isn’t always possible. A doula works solely for you, not the NHS, offering dedicated time, balanced information and personalised support so you feel confident, prepared and at the centre of your pregnancy and birth experience.
How far do you travel for in person support?
My in-person radius is about an hour’s drive from Fordingbridge, Hampshire
I also have family in Farnham, Surrey so am able to offer in person support from this location, again within an hour’s drive.
I may accept clients further away at my discretion.
What are you qualifications?

Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, absolutely you can. Let me know in our discovery call if you would like to pay in instalments, depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy.
Do you offer virtual support?
I prefer to work in person but would consider a virtual support package if this is something you are looking into.
